This is my respnce to the one we have to do:
OK. I am the kind of person who is extremely blunt and sticks up for myself and others wihout a thought and sometimes very impulsive and righteous. It sounds like Melinda went through something that made/makes it hard for her to be like that, SO, if I had gone through the same thing she had gone through my answer my be different, but I’m going to answer it how I am now.
In the book Melinda just doesn’t say anything and lets these kids bring her down. If I was in this situation I look at both of the girls and say: “You have NO idea what you’re talking about! You didn’t go through what I did! If you were there you would have called the police too! Get off my back, I didn’t WANT anything to happen!!!!” I would stand up for myself and tells those girls to back off, without letting loose much information. The way Melinda does these things; stands by while people, memories, and the way things occur just tear her apart from the inside where she would be better off just telling someone, or better still, yelling at someone, which is what works for me!
This is the response to the “it” choice:
I’m not sure how detailed this is supposed to be. I think That “it” definitely has to do with that night in August at the party. It could be an item, or a person, but it was there that night! This thing hurt her very much, and makes her very afraid. I think it is a person…maybe someone hurt her physically at that party and they go to her school.
Making sure it works!
